orhostnameyounotedearlier.

bEntertheusernameroot.

cEnterthepasswordyouspecifiedusingthedirectconsole.Ifyoudidnotset

thepasswordusingthedirectconsole,leavethePasswordfieldempty.

3ClickLogin.Asecuritywarningappears.

4Tocontinue,clickIgnore.

Thissecuritywarningmessageoccursbecausethe

VI Clientdetectedacertificate

signedbytheESXServer3ihostitself(defaultsetting).Forhighlysecure

environments,certificatesgeneratedbytrustedthird‐partyarerecommended.You

cansetupthirdpartycertificateslater.
