YoumightconsidermovingvirtualmachinestoportgroupsonavDSoradifferentESXhosttogroupvirtual

machinesbyfunction,department,orotherorganizationalneedtoimprovesecurityandeaseconfigurationof

accessrules.YoucaninstallvShieldEdgeattheperimeterofanyportgrouptoisolate

virtualmachinesfrom

theexternalnetwork.YoucaninstallavShieldApponanESXhostandconfigurefirewallpoliciesper

containerresourcetoenforcerulesbasedonthehierarchyofresources.

Are My Virtual Machines Still Protected if I vMotion Them to Another ESX Host?

Yes,ifyouinstallavShieldApponeachESXhostinacluster,youcanmigratemachinesbetweenhostswithout
