To eject a floppy disk from a virtual machine

3IntheStagecolumnoftheLifecycletab,clickthethumbnailiconofthedeployed
virtual
machine.
4MovethepointeroverthevirtualmachinenameandchooseEjectFloppyfromthe
menu.
To swap an inserted floppy disk with another floppy disk
1Intheleftpane,clickServices.
2MovethepointerovertheservicenameandchooseDetailsfromthemenu.
3IntheStagecolumnoftheLifecycletab,clickthethumbnailiconofthedeployed
virtualmachine.
4MovethepointeroverthevirtualmachinenameandchooseSwapFloppyfrom
themenu.
Consolidating Virtual Machines
Eachtimeyoucreatealinkedcloneofavirtualmachine,Stage Managerfreezesthe
virtualharddiskassociatedwiththeoriginalvirtualmachineandcreatesdeltadisksto
storefuturechangestothecloneanditssource.Overtime,theincreasingnumberof
deltadisksstoredacrossthedirectoriesofa
datastorecanaffectperformance.Youdo
notneedtoconsolidatevirtualmachinesuntilStage Managergeneratesanerror
requestingthisoperation.
Consolidatingavirtualmachineandcantakeanextendedperiodoftime(underorover
30minutes),dependingonthedisksizeandstorageperformance.Consolidation
reducesthefreespaceon
datastoresbecausethevirtualmachinenolongerbenefits
fromdeltadisks.

OTEEvenifyoudonothavetoconsolidatedisks,youcanusethisoperationtomove
avirtualmachinetoadifferentdatastore.
